2O11 Letter to Hunger Quiz Contributors

Dear Friend,

During 2011 you contributed to World Hunger Education Service’s Hunger Quiz. (See the quiz page at http://worldhunger.org/contributefood.htm.) The World Hunger Education Service thanks you very much for your contribution, which we acknowledge at http://worldhunger.org/associates.htm .

This letter is also a report on how we used your contribution to benefit hungry people. We used your contribution, combined with the contributions of others including WHES, to donate to 28 organizations working to reduce hunger and poverty in 2011. One hundred percent of your contribution went to these organizations. Fourteen were organizations that work to end world hunger and poverty. This year, due to the severe hunger situation in the United States, we also contributed about 25 percent of our funds to 14 United States anti-hunger organizations, principally food banks. We made these contributions through the mechanism of our hunger quiz. Approximately 120,000 people will have taken the hunger quiz during 2011. By taking our quiz, a large number of people increased their knowledge of hunger.
